1. Pyramid

Pyramid drinking card game

Game Overview

  • Name: Pyramid (also known as Ride the Bus)
  • Type: Drinking Game
  • Alternative: Can be played with water; if a player goes to the bathroom, they are eliminated. The last player standing wins.

Setup

  1. Shuffle a standard 52-card deck of playing cards.
  2. Deal a pyramid of face-down cards on the table, six cards wide.
  3. Distribute four cards to each player. Players should look at their cards once and then set them back down.

Gameplay

  • A non-participating player starts the game by flipping over cards from the pyramid, beginning with the bottom row and moving upwards.
  • When a card is flipped, any player who has a card of the same rank (or wants to bluff) can call on other players to take a drink.
  • The number of drinks depends on the row of the pyramid:
    • Bottom row: 1 drink
    • Second row: 2 drinks
    • And so on, up to the top row, which requires 6 drinks.

Bluffing and Challenges

  • If a player suspects a bluff, they can challenge the caller.
  • If the caller was bluffing, they must drink twice the assigned amount.
  • If the caller was not bluffing, they reveal their card, and the challenger must drink twice the assigned amount.

End of the Game

The game continues until the pyramid is completed.

2. Blind Man’s Bluff

Blind Man's Bluff

Equipment

  • A standard 52-card deck of playing cards.

Setup

  • Shuffle the deck and deal one card face down to each player.

Rules

  1. Card Holding: Players must not look at their card. Instead, they hold the card to their forehead so everyone else can see it, but they cannot.
  2. Decision Time: Players look at each other’s cards and decide whether to fold or stay in the game.
  3. Revealing Cards: Once the time for folding is over, the remaining players reveal their cards.
  4. Determining the Winner: The player with the highest rank card wins. Note that King is considered high, and Ace is low.

Drinking Rules:

    • Players who folded with a lower card than the winning card must take two drinks.
    • Players who folded with a higher card than the winning card must drink an amount equal to the value of their card (Aces are 1, Kings are 13).
    • Players who didn’t fold and lost must drink based on the difference between their card and the winner’s card.
    • If there’s a tie for the winner, the tied players do not drink.

Alternative Non-Alcoholic Version

If you prefer not to use alcohol, you can play with water. Add a rule: whenever a player goes to the bathroom, they are eliminated. The last player standing wins.

  2. Gameplay:
    • On your turn, flip over one card at one end of the line.
    • If it’s a numbered card, discard it and continue by flipping over the next card in line.
    • If it’s a face card (Jack, Queen, King, Ace), you must take a drink.
      • Remove the face card from the game.
      • Add cards to the line based on the rank of the face card:
        • 1 card for a Jack
        • 2 cards for a Queen
        • 3 cards for a King
        • 4 cards for an Ace

  • Equipment: Standard 52-card deck

Setup:

    • Correct Guess: The dealer drinks, and play moves to the next player.
    • Incorrect Guess: The player drinks and guesses again with the next card.
  3. Third Guess:
    • On the third guess, instead of guessing the rank, guess whether the next card is higher or lower than the second guess.

    • Incorrect Guess: The player drinks, becomes the new dealer, and the next player starts their turn.
  4. End of Game: The game ends when the deck runs out of cards.
